About TeslaCarFacts

Tesla changes its cars constantly. A Model 3 built in 2018 and one built in 2025 share a name and not much else: different lights, different screens, different batteries, sometimes a different steering wheel. TeslaCarFacts exists to keep track of those changes, model by model and year by year, so an owner, a shopper or a curious reader can tell exactly which car they are looking at and how it got that way.

Each model page brings together the car's history and generations, the running changes and how to spot them, EPA range ratings, the full NHTSA recall record, and owner tips. The stories tell the longer accounts behind the cars, from the first Roadster to the Cybertruck.

Where the facts come from

Range and efficiency figures come from the EPA's fueleconomy.gov, and recalls from NHTSA's public recall database. History, specifications and performance figures come from Tesla's own announcements and filings and from established automotive and business journalism. Every fact, story and table on the site links to the source it rests on. Where sources disagree, the page says so and gives both figures rather than picking one quietly.

Independence

TeslaCarFacts is an independent enthusiast site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesla, Inc., and nothing here is official Tesla guidance. For anything involving safety, charging equipment or emergency procedures, your car's owner's manual and Tesla service are the final word.

How the site is paid for

The site is supported by display advertising and by affiliate links on some product recommendations. Neither ever decides what a page says: advertisers do not choose content, and a commission never affects which products are recommended or how they are described.
